    Dine & Dish no. 3 - Let's All Welcome...

Time flies when you're eating fun...it's already the third installment of Dine & Dish! In case that doesn't ring any bells, it's an online event in which bloggers take a month to dine out. Then on a given day, everyone posts their experiences on their blogs, and shortly thereafter, a deliciously juicy dishing session of everyone's adventures gets posted here.

Our first time, the theme was Barfly, with all of us social butterflies landing at bars of all sorts to have a bite. Our second theme was Queen of Cuisine, giving mad props to the women who run kitchens and restaurants like nobody's business.

And now, I give you the theme for this month’s Dine & Dish...

    THE FRESHMAN

For the June and July, let's welcome a restaurant, joint, dive, hole-in-the-wall, any eating establishment that's in its first year. A rookie. A newbie. We're going to haze the freshmen. *semi-evil cackle*

I've already got a little twinkle in my eye for a new place in L.A. that I'd like to try. Fashion and food come and go here as fast as movie-star relationships, so it's not hard. But if a fairly new place isn't easy to find, then even a place that's a first time visit for you would work, too!

There are no hard and fast rules here – just fun and food, but just in case there is someone who likes to have guidelines:

    1. Interpret the theme as you wish – THE FRESHMAN
    2. Go eat any time betwixt now and Monday, July 11, 2005 (that gives us four weeks!)
    3. Write about it on your blog (or email the story to if you don’t have one) on the 11th.
    4. Email me the link
    5. I will put a nice, neat little summary of all the experiences, linking out to everyone else's posts on Tuesday, July 12th (or a teeny bit later if I get lazy).

Now, let's give a warm welcome to The Freshman!

Okay...I'm a geek. All those page loads are me! Ever since you hinted that you might announce this month's theme after the weekend, I've been refreshing like a madwoman!

I love the theme. It is a wonderful excuse to try a new place or two.

Got it! And I have just the place in mind.... It's supposed to open this week! How's that for "fresh"? :-)

Oh this is so cute! I haven't teased a freshman in sooo long ;)

It's a nice twist- I'm surprised that I have to ponder a bit to think of a new place to visit. Shows how much I like my sphere of comfort!

OO, this sounds like so much fun, especially since I'm travelling. I promise I'll do my best to get it in on time!
