Specifically, Ricky's Fish Tacos, which I had the delicious pleasure and good (catered) fortune of trying for the first time at Jill D's birthday party (with a gorgeous dry rosé, no less).
Crunchy cabbage. Salty, herbaceous beer-batter (did I hear him utter "oregano" and "Dos Equis" when I asked?). And the thickest planks of flaky white fish I've ever eaten in a fish taco.
It's going to be a challenge for a Westside fiend to feed an Eastside obsession, though.
So let's see which I'll conquer first: going east of La Cienega or deep frying at home.
