Thank goodness I moved (!) away from the westside (!!), otherwise Jinpachi would make me a traitor by geography.

I demand to know the reason for turning your back on the West Side! Two exclamation points about leaving? What happened to the girl who wouldn't venture east of the 405? Inquiring minds want to know!

Why oh why did I have to see this post AFTER retuning from my visit to LA? No, no, of course, I couldn't have found this while still in the same zip code as this place....Okay. I'm patient. I'll be back in LA soon enough. I can handle this.
The photos are amazing, and even making me rethink my uni phobia.

It's been awhile since I've visited your website, but glad I came back...aside from being a fantastic writer, you are an INCREDIBLE photographer (as has been duly noted by others)...perhaps you've answered this before, but what kind of camera do you use...and how do you get such crisp close-ups? What settings do you use for those?
Sarah J. Gim says
Michael!
I've been using the Canon s90, a compact digital that has better-than-average low light capabilities. For the close ups, the camera is on the AV mode with the macro focus setting. I also have a pretty steady hand, which is good in low light (I think...?)
