Happy birthday-month! And is Doughnut Day for real?! Damn I wish I lived in the states. Any reason to celebrate with food, especially those condoned by the government, is a winner for me!

catty: it is in fact, Doughnut Day here in the US! it has something to do with the Salvation Army back in the day...of course, no one cares about that anymore. we all just want a reason to eat a doughnut without guilt :)

and you should just up and start Doughnut Day where you live :D i doubt any of these "holidays" are officially sanctioned by the government

I knew June was going to be a good month...
Actually, I have a dry erase calendar in the kitchen, and yesterday a friend of mine did some research and filled in several of these holidays already. I'm definitely going to go add National Peaches and Cream Day, though!

brittany: i love that my birthday falls on National Peaches and Cream day. side story: i had a Peaches & Cream Barbie when I was little! or maybe my sister did and I just imagined that it was mine because all I ever got were National Geographic maps and pencils to play with.

skgwjh: thanks for the birthday wishes! um, for some reason, they don't feel warm, but f**k, i'll take what i can get.

They are warm SJG. They are warm like the gummi worms in my pocket.

They are warm like the seat that somebody just heated up for you while dropping their kids off at the pool.

Warm like the medium dr pepper that you left in the cup holder with the ice melted from the sun, the fizz gone, but the taste somewhat sugary.

Just a head's up, but from what I've seen in Google search results, National Grilling Month is in July. Great post though. I'm using it to add some food holiday related content to the wikiHow Twitter and Facebook pages.

Happy Birthday Sarah! Ahem...not to imply anything in any way, but there's a Paul Simon song (which shows my age) which I'd dedicate to you.....
